Proposal
for Music Magazine
My music magazine will be called ‘Fever,’ It shall be predominantly an indie
music magazine focusing on specific bands such as Two door cinema club, Alt j
and solo singers like Jake Bugg. My magazine will be aimed at young teenagers
both male and female who enjoy listening to the bands and other indie bands.
Also it will have elements of indie films which will have been seen by many of
the targeted age group for example the ‘Breakfast Club’. The style of my
magazine will be very laid back and relaxed it shall have a colour scheme of
black and white and with images predominantly being and whit with dark beige
for main article pieces, this will help them to stand out but at the same time
link in with my laid back style. I will mostly be doing pieces like profiling
specific bands finding out details about that band, things that fans will be
most interested in. For example tour
dates and secrets within the band. That band will be the main cover image that
is used, helping the magazine to entice readers, readers that may not have read
before.
I will also include pages which will be showcasing the specifically important
things going on in the music world this year for example tour dates of bands
and singers pictures from festivals and music gossip. This shall be appealing
to music fans.
I will include special offers for clothes and concert and festival tickets on
competition pages. Also things that would relate to the specific band that I
used that week, like band merchandise.
For my magazine I would want an organised look to my magazine but also a look
that suggests a laid back feel which will appeal to my target audience of
teens. As I am a teen myself I feel that I know what would look good in a
magazine like this, and I could make my magazine fit in well with the
particular genre. I will also include fashion in my magazine mostly festival
fashion something which my target audience will be interested in as they are
always looking forward to the next festival.
I want my magazine to be different from others in my specific genre. I want it
to stand out and be able to entice readers. I will sell my magazine for about
£1.50. I think this an accessible prize that many teens and young adults could
afford.
